Brinkley for Alaska Governor 2006
Yes, it's true, Alaska has it's first canine candidate for Governor of the state, 2006. Hey, what can we say, we are a dog state for sure. If you check out the vehicles going down the highway you'd think there were 3 dogs to every family!

Okay... he's not a registered candidate and I don't think there's a "dog-dependent" party just yet-but he's a candidate who has won the hearts of quite a few voters already. Honest to God. And if Alaskan Dogs could vote- he'd have this race for governor thing all wrapped up!

There are Brinkley for Gov. political signs around town, Brinkley for Gov. t-shirts being worn by registered voters as well as (you guessed it) Brinkley for Gov. buttons. He's out meeting and greeting the public daily and when it comes to the "kiss the children" photo-op. that every candidate succombs to-Brinkley wins hands (paws) down! There's not a candidate out there who can deliver the kind of warm and wet kiss that Brink can!

Brinkley got the idea to run for gov. after passing a "Binkley for Gov. 2006" sign on his daily walk. John Binkley that is. After knocking the idea around and having his neighbors comment that the Binkley sign makes them think of Brinkley-the idea was born.

Brinkley has so far gotten a commitment from 116 registered voters for his vote-honest! Apparently, he is the most unusual write in candidate for political office in Alaska's history. And while we wish all the candidates well in this race for Gov.-watch out! Here comes Brinkley!
